This morning - 45 student athletes got the chance to sit and talk with Coach Dwayne once again from the Positive Coaching Alliance. Today they spoke on - Honoring the Game and Social Media Use while elevating themselves and others. Coach Dwayne delivered a great message on how the athletes' use of social media impacts not only themselves but their team and our school community!! TY Coach!!
Oakcrest Science Club students prepping classroom hydroponics systems during zero period today, part of the $10,000 grant recently awarded to us, a Science and Culinary collaboration!!
Oakcrest boys moved to 7-1-3 this season with a 2-1 win over Cedar Creek.Oakcrest opened the scoring with a goal by Clayton Husta in the 9th minute.
The second goal was scored by Andae Johnson in the 32 minute. Cedar Creek closed the gap in the 46’ minute by #15 Jarion Gomez.
Oakcrest lost to Absegami 2-1 but fought hard for their pink game

Oakcrest moves to 6-1-3 after beating Lower 5-1 on Friday afternoon in West Cape May.
Jack O’Brien scored and had an assist, Gabby Dittus and Ryan Merlino each had an assist, Kelvin Urena and La’Marc Rex scored a goal and Andrae Johnson led the way with two goals.

The decision to close Oakcrest High School this morning was made based upon significant electrical outages in the building. These outages, which began yesterday, would have impacted a number of aspects of our school day.
The decision was not made lightly and not without significant attempts to avoid such. We had maintenance staff on-site yesterday and through the night. We had contacted our electric provider for assistance, and they were involved with us overnight and this morning.
Despite these attempts, the building's electrical systems were still not functioning at a level we believed we needed to hold classes. The decision was made since Absegami and Cedar Creek had no issues, that those buildings will "go as normal" today.
Oakcrest will resume tomorrow with a "B DAY", as is scheduled. Additional information will be forthcoming on when we will make this day up for Oakcrest, though we can share at this time it will NOT be any of our scheduled October or November closings.
