    Air Force Junior ROTC

Air Force Junior ROTC is one of two Magnet Programs at Oakcrest High School. Our mission is to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community. Focusing on community service, instruction on air and space science and history, the program uses the United States Air Force Core Values of Integrity, Service and Excellence as its foundation.

The bulk of the program is leadership and aerospace academics, drill and once a week physical training.  Additionally, cadets are required to wear the blue AFJROTC uniform one day per week most weeks of the school year while meeting Air Force grooming standards during uniform days. Uniforms are issued at no cost, and there is no military obligation for being a part of the AFJROTC program

Cadets who go on to college may receive special consideration for ROTC scholarships or for appointments to military academies. Cadets who do decide to join the military after high school graduation are eligible to enlist at a higher pay grade.
