Mr. John Cocuzza
I am really proud to be part of the "Falcon" family.
I started my tenure at Oakcrest High School as an Industrial Arts Teacher prior to the 1986-87 school year. I was 22, only five years removed from my own high school days. After spending a decade in Room 413 as a Wood Technology teacher, I transitioned to the Guidance Office as a School Counselor. Seven years later I assumed my current position as the Supervisor of the Guidance Department. I'm thrilled to be part of a guidance team that received a “Best Practice” recognition from the New Jersey Department of Education.
I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to meet, teach, counsel and work with so many outstanding students and educators. I trust as a whole you will find the Oakcrest community to be caring, supportive and inclusive. I am always amazed at the level of compassion and altruism I witness on a daily basis from our student body and staff. I continue to look forward to working with the students, staff and members of our school community with the goal of assisting all students in their academic, social and emotional development and the realization of their post secondary school plans.
In addition to being a huge Oakcrest Falcon fan, I am also an avid NY Mets & NY Jets fan (don't hate Philly fans, it's my loyalty to my north jersey childhood roots), When I’m not at Oakcrest I love spending time with my wife Kathi, my son Anthony, my dog Jax and my cat Jeter.
