Dr. Jeri-Lynn Vernon

Welcome to Absegami High School, Home of the Braves! It is with great enthusiasm that we begin the 2018-2019 school year.

I began my career as a social studies teacher in 1986 at Oakcrest High School, proudly earning the title of Teacher of the Year in 1990. I obtained a Master's Degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from Temple University and moved into the position of Supervisor of Social Studies and Performing Arts in 1999. After twenty-one years I moved to Absegami High School, assuming the position of Principal in 2007. I earned a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership in 2008 from Widener University. In addition to my work in the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District I have served an an adjunct instructor in Teacher Education at Richard Stockton State College since 1990.

I truly love high school students. They live on the verge of hope every day, they have a great sense of humor, are passionate about everything and anything and given direction, will thrive in the high school environment.

My interests include traveling, bicycling, rowing and spending time with my family and friends. I currently reside in Galloway Township with my husband Walt and enjoy spending time with our four adult children and five grandchildren. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. As sports fans assemble around the gridiron we are able to spend time in one place with family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, students and the community as a whole to celebrate! I hope to see you at the game this year.  It is truly a community event.

Thank you for visiting our Faculty Web Pages and on behalf of the Absegami Family, welcome to our school community.
