Mrs. Jayme Miller-Dobbins

Welcome! My name is Mrs. Miller-Dobbins. I am very excited for the new school year! As we begin this school year I would like to share a quote with you by Eric Gibbons. " Art is the meeting place of all subjects... Art teachers, know, when we grid, measure, and draw - we use geometry. When we make sculptures - we use engineering. When we mix colors - we reveal information about physics. When we create illustrationsfor stories - we learn about literature. When we review the styles of art from (Leonardo) da Vinci to Banksy - we teach history. When we write about art - we strenfthen these skills. When we createworks of art, we solve complex visualproblems in creative ways." I can't wait to see all the awesome works of art you will make his year when you unleash your creativity!

  • All art students will need a 9" X 12" sketchbook. My recommendation is to purchase a spiral bound sketchbook. Be sure it is sketch or drawing paper. LINED PAPER IS UNACCEPTABLE. Places that you can purchase a sketchbook include: Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Shoprite, Acme, Target, CVS, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, etc. You DO NOT need to spend a great deal of money.

Additional suggested art supplies: drawing pencils/set, erasers, scissors, glue, mod podge, watercolor set, black Sharpies (fine/ultra fine), ruler, old magazines, black pen, markers, color pencils, crayons.

ART CLUB Meeting Dates TBA... Stay Tuned for Updates.
