Degrees and Certifications:

AA in Education BA in English/Secondary Education

Mrs. Danielle Maddrey

Danielle Maddrey was born and raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In the first grade she knew she wanted to be a teacher. Therefore, she has always strived to do well in school. She obtained her AA in education from Atlantic Cape Community College. From there, she went on to what is known as the "teacher college," Rowan University. There she received her BA in English with secondary education certification with advanced standing. She recently graduated with a 4.0 in Biblical Studies from Faith Bible Institute.

Mrs. Maddrey has always loved working with children. She taught preschool for several years. She has worked at Barbarito and Beyers, By Faith We Care, and Atlanticare Kids all while pursuing her degree in Education. Upon graduating she taught sixth grade at Pleasantville Middle School and Oceanside Charter School. During the summer she also worked at Harrahs nursery and later became Summer Camp Supervisor of Atlantic City Housing Authority. "Since children are our future I take great pride in contributing to the well-being of our society by providing children with the tools to succeed," Mrs. Maddrey stated. In 2007, she started working for the Greater Egg Harbor School District teaching freshman at Absegami.  She spent six years there before transfering over to Cedar Creek where she has taught freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors various English courses.

Mrs. Maddrey is happily married and a mother of two sons, a step-daughter, and a yorkie named Kami-Sue. She is a Deaconess and Praise Dancer at her church and also has her own buisness. In her spare time, which is rare, she likes to create all sorts of things on her computer, watch Netflix, and craft. She likes art, music, travel, dance, and movies. She also loves reading. What do you expect she is an English teacher! She says, "With every book I read I become that much wiser and I am in love with learning."

In her class we learn short stories, novels, non-fiction, grammar, drama, writing and poetry, but the most important lesson is life. Mrs. Maddrey tries her hardest to show us how each lesson is crucial to our lives and that we must cherish education. "Learning is the key to unlock any door," she explains "I want my students to be able to make wise choices, think critically, be empathetic and caring, and above all have faith in themselves that they really can be whatever they want to be. It just takes hard work and determination." She looks forward to teaching Honors British Literature and Adventures in Literature this school year.
