Happenings at the DLL

Arleen Roller and her Physical Science students helped test our new “Clickers” in a non-traditional way: to score their mid-term exams.  There were some minor issues that will need to be worked out, but the experiment was an overall success.  After loading her exam into a laptop pc that has SmartTech Notebook software on it, I was able to bring the system into her classroom and have the students sign in using their student ID numbers. Their results were immediately available in MS Excel and HTML formats.  Click below for some images of the available results.

lessons, prepared poetry, tessellations, tangrams, Venn diagrams, and more are already loaded into the Notebook software on my computer in the lab.  There are also many, many websites out there created by schools

and teachers with Notebook lessons they have shared.  Below are some links that you can check out, and I’d be happy to show you more about it here in the lab.

Every day I learn more about what the Smart Board has to offer.  Interactive maps, virtual dissections, jeopardy games, virtual thermometers, dice that can say their numbers in Spanish (or English), pre-made science
